"மழை கவிதை கொண்டு வருது, யாரும் கதவடைக்க வேண்டாம். ஒரு கருப்பு கொடி காட்டி யாரும் குடை பிடிக்க வேண்டாம்."

Welcome my dearest friend, 'the master of inconveniences, the mischief-monger, the miracle who can make and break, the racist who targets humans, the lover who literally sways one off his/her feet,' - Mr. RAIN or Mr. MONSOON - he who manages to make a fashionable entrance when least wanted - there you are -there you are, knocking the metropolis out of breath. I am among those very few who enjoy you a lot, despite your selfish attitude. I enjoy the drama you happen to stage.
  • The otherwise sleeping-in-your-porch dog, skittering hither and thither looking like a cute furry goat.
  • The friendly oldies of the neighborhood who usually complain about politics going to the pigs, cribbing against themselves standing in the shades of their terrace where the opponent has a view to their smiling faces but cannot hear their voices.
  • The rash-driving driver, driving (more) rasher-still, going cranky for every drop that falls on him.
  • The person who cant afford anymore shoes walking barefoot with the formal-shoes dumped inside his bag that's protected by the umbrella.
  • The all-drenched girl in the signal, who gets off her bike, opens her bike-hood keeping an eye-out for the red-signal not-to-change -to-green, while picking out a 10 rupees bill to hand it over to an elderly, sightless person, whose tears were leaving streaks that even the rain could not wash away along its course.
  • The mother picking up and scolding the cute little fella for jumping up and down in the mud, while wiping him with her wet saree.
  • The roadside romeo getting caught wen trespassing  a red light. The romeo is not one to usually get caught but today's the day where our beloved traffic cops wear a rain jacket over their uniforms and hurrah-the rat's in the trap.
  • The kiddies who stay back as the government lets them to and the office-goers who stay back on their own, questioning, "Do they expect me to swim out there. I got umpteen SLs, so who cares? :) ".
  • The household helps who usually turn-up twice a week make this week a null-turning-up week cos they cant wade through water and i totally agree with them.
The lists longer but let me wrap it up. Mr. Rain, however bad u are, how many ever losses you bring about, how much ever unpredictable you are, you are the one who warm our hearts up with just a steaming mug of coffee and a blanket to curl our toes in. Just watching you out of the window is enough to make hearts soar high with lovely thoughts and faces blossom with smiles. You dont burn holes into the pockets for air-conditioners and you certainly dont irritate me. Consider this a rain-dance and try being Mr.Punctual for we love you that way.

My parents are old...Just not old enough...!

Actually I started on the topic 'Are we the previledged lot!' but thru' the course of writing, most points to being previledged kept pointing to one particular thing amongst lotsa other reasons-our parents!

 We are previledged cos,
  • We have great parents.
  • They got our backs on whichever insane crazy stuff we do.
  • They are the only ones whose entire lives shatter when we fall sick or just fall down.
  • They sacrifice for us-sacrifice meaning, handing over the only best thing they've got to us while standing beaming there without it.-insane,huh!
All these make us previledged people. Enroute to nodding in agreement and heaving satisfactorily to all the abovesaid, the fact that needs to be considered is that these points despite making us previledged, in the long run, make the other party - the parents, underpreviledged! Ooh, shocking...Yeah, the very fact that,
  • They are still living.
  • They are old and their only chance is for us to take care of them.
  • They've got nothing more left in the world.
  • They expect us to get their backs like they once did.
and alarmingly true,
  • They want us to smile at them everytime we see them!
Gosh,whew...What a hell lot of expectations? How are we to sweet talk and stare concernedly at a couple of wrinkled faces and 2 pairs of crinkled eyes which's color is very similar to ours! What with all our commitments, job stress, expenditures this...expenditures that...where's the time amidst licking the ass of people who are monetarily or atleast in some materialistic way beneficial to us...It is obviously tough to reciprocate love to the pair that expects nothing more than a smile, a hug, a caress and little concern!
-For the jackasses(borrowed the term from my friend) out there who'll be jackasses forever!
The way this is proceeding, you might think I am going to start swearing and throw abuses for the jack......whatever to rot in hell...but, hell no, I got no time for them.
I just wanted to make this heard so that some of my friends who might happen to read this may look back at the sad, old faces and feel a pang of relieved happiness for the mere souls that exist as they existed way back where they could have left you standing alone in the midst of the road, totally lost to the world (trust me, there are people out there wearing such shoes), bitter about your youth or your life even.
The article might have been a drag but sorry, I felt the need to pen it down or it would have been lost into my thoughts.

Mother's day in INDIA!

Hooray, it's Mother's day tomorrow! Oki dont give me that stare. I know that most of you would be perplexed  by the title - either 'Mother's Day! or 'India' makes sense - Why has she used Mother's day in INDIA!? Yeah, I've used it cos it perplexes me. Why do we 'celebrate' - ok, if thats a huge word, why do we call up or text and wish our mothers or remind our cousins and friends and even our mom to wish their respective mothers or atleast buy premade cards and post it to them or hand-deliver it to them - Is it because the rest of the world's doing it or Is it because the NRI's (non-returning Indians) are too excited about it!?
I can most certainly guess what would be running through your minds now - Goshh...What a disgrace! Letting down the 'Indispensable Mother Sentiment' just like that cos she's (that's me) capable of spelling out a few words in English and make it sound authentic...You maybe rite about that too. But, I think that the thought isn't as cruel as you evaluate.
Guys, what I am trying to point out here is that we Indians do not require a particular day to applaud our mothers cos if you guys try and sit back and realise, its mother's day almost everyday for us. However trivial the issue might be, dont almost 90% of Indians ring up to your mothers to update them on your everyday happenings. Dont most of you call her every nite b'fore sleep to assure her that you've without fail consumed all 3 meals of the day or more. Dont many of you make sure you ease her mind on your blooming well-being. Doesn't she have it on her fingertips as to when you've had your promotion, your hike, that you've resigned, you are depressed and that you are in love.
Mothers of India are her children's first and foremost friend. Why alienate the love to just one day, which a population entirely of a different culture, that tends to be farther away from their own parents and siblings both mentally and physically, utilise to make sure that the bloodline still lives out there somewhere and are of good health.
India! We worship our mothers - our parents. We wake up everyday (be it in a different country or ours) in the same room as our better halves or roommates or colleagues with the first thought b'fore splashing water onto our faces as to when to make that 'GOOD MORNING MA!' call. That, we know, makes her day. Let us therefore strive to make those 10 or 15 minutes of everyday 'The Mother's Minutes' so that we just dont need to curtail the moments, the hugs, the kisses and the tears to just one particular day.
Do not be pissed off with me (specially my bro). Its just because I've got a new pen and just love or cant stop writing with it. Hoorah...Its Mother's Day tomorrow. Nothing wrong in making it extra special to her than everyday. Sure, go ahead and embarass her :)

Retirement, Pure Bliss...

Just like when we say, 'I've come across this, that, them and those in life', there's a frequently happening phenomenon which we happen to come across in every household - RETIREMENT!!! Oooh, Isn't the word alarming! No, not to me. There are two little people in my life, who are retired and 'not' - I think... One's the DAD (retired last month) and other's the GRANDDAD (retired for some years now).
In chronological order - My granddad, Thathiyah, as only this word sounds right to describe him. 'Grandad' - the term is a tad alien to me. I remember sending him a card on his retirement that had a bunch of retired rats doing weird hobbying stuff like smoking pot, pulling another rat's hair, hanging upside down from the ceiling and so on...Crazy me! I am dead sure he's lost it cos the last time i asked, he faked looking for it and said its been misplaced. Good for him.
Rite...now grazing over the actual topic that ought to speak about his retirement, he seems too satisfied with the routine he's set up. Try whatever, you cannot pull him out of it, be it his daughter's birthday, her wedding anniversary, his granddaughter visiting near his place which happens once in every bluemoon or a huge get together inclusive of most of his grandsons and daughters and children - he certainly doesnt dig into it...Man, isn't he busy! Yeah, this is what it is, he's got his own selfmade group of old friends who expect him to turn up everyday so that they've got someone who actually they can turn to and open their hearts out. The conversations vary from funnier family stuff as to, 'has the toddler in your place uttered his first word', to the really leaden, say, international politics!
I just learnt a few days back from my grandma that he's been awarded every year by the library in his place, (a little place called Devakotai where 'most we-all the great crooks' hail from :) ), a laurel that applauds him to be the person who reads the maximum number of books per year. This saddened me a lot cos i dint know it all these days. I know he reads a lot but never knew, to this extent. People say that I am a brat very similar to the elderly brat i am talking about all along, but guess what, he does his own chores and yeah, he is awesome in his own teeny tiny way (and so am i). Oki, I think I am starting to soak my hand towel as most serials in Tamil channels do today (They start all funny, hale and hearty and move on to drench people, either the tearful way or the sweaty way - However, better not to switch on the Idiot Box in the evenings or you certainly aren't relaxing).
Moving on to the lighter and bubblier 'My DAD'!
'Whew' - People are tired getting to keep along with him these days. He's packed as I can see everyday with activities however trivial, he does them all. He always has, but guess he din't have the time then, with his work interrupting him and all...Call him at any time and you can find him driving to some destination inside Thanjavur, wherein it'll take only a maximum of three-quarters of an hour to span through the whole of the town itself...Weird, huh! When chores subside, he's got a whole troup of kiths and kins(I seriously doubt the word's grammatically legal even) to keep him busy in every huge way possible.
Trust me, I was really really scared when i learnt a couple of months ago that he would be retiring soon cos I've known him from my birth and he is a person who's incapable of keeping still in one place for more than a minute and I am not exaggerating. But, as i am sketching it out, he seems to be coping beautifully.
Certainly, these people out there are jolting us, their children in early and late 20's into a realisation that questions us when we claim to be bored most of the time we keep at home! And now I think I ve bored you out enough...
Retired??? - Who me!!! Cos I've posted twice from morning??? No No...certainly not-I ve just got a sprained ankle and hip that's eating into my brain which as i said in my earlier post is hyperactive and hyperventilating... Adios now guys :)... Be safe.

I gotta go... What does that even mean!!!

A little unorthodox!
What is little in being unorthodox? Yeah, as i've screamed aloud in my title - certainly not the atheist talk. Cos, 'atheist talk' sucks nowadays, (as does 'Theist talk'), and most of them out there are atheists all of a sudden.

Unorthodox - this and that! Maybe unorthodox writing - Ooh, I find it interesting. Chill folks, its the oohs and aahs and the folks and guys and for people who hate Shakespeareian English, the slang that's gonna be unorthodox. Alrite, even the content. Ok, now I am beating aroung the bush.

I am basically not a writer. I am just someone who talks a lot and loves it when people listen to me. So now you can guess my state when there's noone around. While I was sipping my coffee and wondering this morning as to who to talk to, it suddenly occured to me that there are a hell lot of people out there who would listen to me as they listen to my friend and my cousin - a couple of qualified, avid  bloggers. So, Tada! here I am, though I am not qualified enough.

Blogging is addictive, so say a lot of people. Let me put that to test as my brain's hyperactive, and hyperventilating right now and its a sin to put it to sleep, and for the fact, I  got 3 guinea pigs at home. What! - 'I' and  'got' without a 'have' inbetween and so many 'and's binding up a sentence - That would be my boss's exclamation on reading the sentence but that's what i call an unorthodox writing and I've always loved it that way. Hope you would too.

For now, I think I ve happily eaten your brains out...Kudos to me. Be safe until I get back with something really more relevant (I am doing the two fingers twitching thing that people do when they spell out 'hopefully'), so that you dont have to waste your time....Tata.
